Treaty of Waitangi poem by Marshall

Treaty of Waitangi

The Treay of Waitangi of Waitangi has been signed

Then they immediately changed their mind

They couldn't take it off

Saying we want a war

Saying this is our land

They all sounded like boars

We're fighting for our lives

The war's over soon

A bomb drops our of a plane

As the ground goes Boom!

Jasel presenting her poem she wrote about the Treaty of Waitangi

Arman's poem about the Treaty of Waitangi

Treaty Of Waitangi

Bang!
 Gunshots
Like leaves fallen to the ground
The casualties of war
Lie helpless
Hopeless count

Two copies
One says left
The other says right
Moari in the middle
Not knowing which is right

Hone Heke as fast as a cheetah
First to sign
First to regret

Now 6 February
A public holiday
Hone Heke will probably hate

Wuatai's poem about the Treaty of Waitangi

Treaty of Waitangi

A great deal

Between Maori and British

Signed in the year 1840

At a place called Waitangi

The treaty danced

But only the British enjoyed

The Maori did not understand

Because the versions

Were not hand in hand

Hayden's poem about the Treaty of Waitangi

 Treaty of Waitangi

Maori chiefs free as birds

To sign a piece of paper

Given to them by the British

Land ran away

As fast as it could

The chiefs who signed are gone

The chiefs now fight on

For their land

Soane explaining his strategy in Maths

Soane enjoys solving problems in Maths. Today he created this screencastify to teach others about his strategy. Do you agree with how he worked out the problem?

Victoria and Taijah sharing their examples of personification

We are learning about poetry in Room 7. Today each pair had to create an example of a figurative device we watched from a Youtube clip.

Here is a screencastify done by Victoria and Taijah.

Making our own Growth Mindset quotes

Today we looked at what Growth Mindset is. We discussed as a class what it means to each of us and how we can show we have a Growth Mindset.

Our next activity was to use our names to create our own Growth Mindset quote. This is Taylor's quote.

Welcome to 2021

Today we welcomed our students back to our Happy and Safe Learning Community. The summer break has been a wonderful break for our students as well as our staff. There were many smiles and many happy verbal recounts about the holidays from the students in the classrooms this morning.

Our big theme this year is He Waka Eke Noa. We are all in this together. For ignition assembly, Mrs Tofa put together this short movie to explain what she brings to the Room 7 waka.

Haere mai class of 2021. We have a fun filled and memorable year to enjoy. He Waka Eke Noa.
