Short, powerful words, echo a lot of meaning

This is the start of Ali-Jon's poem about the situation Josef was in from our novel of study Refugee by Alan Gratz. He is still working on the rest of his poem but here is a taster of the masterpiece he is working on.

Refugee should care for each other

Unlike Hitler, the dude who didn’t bother

His attitude so bad

It made a lot of people sad

The Nazi’s didn’t care

Life became a roller coaster called the Stratofear

Soane sharing one of his tasks for our Great Books unit

This is a task Soane has completed for his Great Books project. He had to analyse some videos and make connections between the videos and the Refugee novel our class has been reading. His discussions are very well thought out and has made some very good connections between the novel from Alan Gratz and the videos.

Our class having a Covid Lockdown drill

Today we had a lockdown drill in case we go to Alert Level 4 and have to learn from home. We had to check if all class members have a device with a working charger, then we all had to log into our class meet link and wait for Mrs Tofa to accept us. We also discussed meet etiquette which some of us might have forgotten. It was a good experience especially for our new class members who have just joined our class. We also hope we will not be going into Alert Level 4 because we love coming to school.

Social Studies task in our Architecture unit by Mahdieh

Mahdieh created this task using google slides. The task required her to discuss how buildings reflect the cultures of countries they originate from. Mahdieh has done a great job also describing what culture means and has included some facts about different cultures including her own.

Mahdieh's presentation on flamingos as part of her animal project

Mahdieh's favourite animal is the flamingo. In this presentation she is explaining some interesting facts about flamingos and their capabilities. These are amazing animals which are often not thought about because they are not always visible to communities.
