Ezekiel's narrative about Nellie the elephant.

An elephant named Nellie was a performer at a circus, she was enjoying her time there until her home was annihilated by flames of fire.

Therefore, she packed her stuff and her favourite peanuts for the road then she said goodbye   and began her journey to find a new one.

Lonely, afraid and exhausted she gave up. She fell onto the floor sobbing. She lost everything: her home, her friends, everything. But there was a glimmer of green from the distant land that wasn’t touched a bit from the fire. This land cheered her up again, maybe there is hope after all.

Room 7 have just finished reading Boyznbikes by Vince Ford. Here is our collaborative novel review about the book we read as a class.

Ngakiri, Ezekiel, Tupou, Kalo and Richie dig deeper into the effects of Global Warming on our Pacific Islands

Swimming is an essential life skill.

Room 7 have been focussing on backstroke this week. We have a few students who are struggling with the backstroke technique but we are all improving each day.

The swimming pool is lovely and cool escape from the hot sun and the warm classrooms.

Well done everyone for your effort in the pool.

Learning about cells in Genomics

As part of home learning, we had to create a poster with a continuum of the smallest living thing to the biggest. Here is Viliami M's google drawing showing the smallest living thing he researched and the biggest.

Learning about sentence starters

Today in Room 7, we learnt about different ways to start sentences. We watched a video on youtube and then we wrote our own sentences.

These are my two sentence

1. Hurriedly, Room 7 rushed to the hall for assembly.
The first sentence starts with an LY starter.

2. Tom happily skipped to his home after school.
The second sentence starts with the subject then a verb. The subject is Tom and the verb is happily.
