2020 has started with our previous students returning and also some new students starting at our school. Reign is one of our new students and he wrote this letter to Mrs Tofa to introduce himself.

Monday 3 February

Dear Mrs Tofa

I am Reign. I am 13 years old and I am in Year 8.

Attending  Glenbrae School is a fresh new start for me. I will get to know new friends and people. 

My goal is to respect everyone and everything. The way I work is to be perfect. 

This year I will try my best to stay positive and to use my manners. I will say nice words, be an active learner and be resilient.

Sometimes I struggle to work but I just go ahead and try my best to achieve.

It has been a wonderful year with our Year 8 students. We are sad to see them go but excited for the adventures which lie before them.

Room 7 have taken on a great project to design shoes for the elderly. This week, each student has been working hard on their design and thinking about the needs of our clientele. The final designs will be posted soon and they are absolutely amazing. Watch this space!

Glenbrae School Camp 2019

Camp is a special event for all our Year 7 and 8 students. It happens every two years and is memorable time for the students and the staff involved. 

At camp we learnt about,

• the Treaty of Waitangi
• the evolution of the flags of New Zealand
• the history of New Zealand places - Kerikeri and Russell
• the early settlers, whaling, missionaries

We also learnt how to 

• kayak
• develop friendships
• work in teams
• be resilient and cope with change and challenges
• be more independent
• have fun
• look out for each other
• respect our fauna
