What a fun packed day
Wednesday 26 February, what a day to remember. We all jumped on the bus after our briefing in front of the school hall. We then headed to Manukau to the Vector Wero Water Park. We were grouped in groups of six and all had an instructor with us. What was the activity? White water rafting!!!!!!!
One of the most awesome experience you can experience. The rush of the current and the effort to work as a team to paddle, paddle, paddle. We all had fun and every single one of us had a turn in floating down stream.
We are grateful to Mrs Patea for organising this fun filled day for us which ended at the Otahuhu pools. What an awesome way to start the year. Thank you also to Mrs Raj, Mrs Tofa and Miss Maruariki for taking us on the day.

First day of technology for Room 7.
It was great to start technology again. The Year 7 students are in Science and the Year 8 students are in Food Technology with Mrs Heka. The Year 8 students started the year by cooking a Rainbow Stir Fry using vegetables and mince. They all had a good time cooking and a happier time eating their meals. Thank you Mrs Heka for the wonderful lesson.
Here is a short movie to show what the Year 8 students learnt.

Water fun day 2020
Every year Glenbrae School has a Water Fun Day. It is a time for the students to represent their house by wearing their house colours and competing against other houses.
This year there were some new activities added. Here are the activities for Water Fun Day 2020.

Learning through fun in Kiwican
Positive relationships is the current theme for Kiwican. Today we focussed on Fair Play. We started the lesson with a energiser which was a game called 21. The boys were in one team and the girls made another team.
There were rules such as:
You can only say two numbers at a time
You can't tell others what numbers to say
The next activity was Human Bowling. We had to go outside for this game. The ball is bowled and anyone who moves or flinches is out. The boys won this game.
The last game was End of the road. These were general knowledge questions.
It was fun in Kiwican today. Everyone left the room feeling happy and positive.

2020 has started with our previous students returning and also some new students starting at our school. Reign is one of our new students and he wrote this letter to Mrs Tofa to introduce himself.
Monday 3 February
Dear Mrs Tofa
I am Reign. I am 13 years old and I am in Year 8.
Attending Glenbrae School is a fresh new start for me. I will get to know new friends and people.
My goal is to respect everyone and everything. The way I work is to be perfect.
This year I will try my best to stay positive and to use my manners. I will say nice words, be an active learner and be resilient.
Sometimes I struggle to work but I just go ahead and try my best to achieve.
Yours sincerely
Reign
